Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using LedgerCopilot ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use this App. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement.

3. Description of Service

LedgerCopilot is a personal finance management tool that helps you track transactions, categorize spending, upload and parse bank statements, and gain insights into your financial habits through AI-assisted analysis. The App is not a bank, financial advisor, or licensed financial institution.

4. User Accounts

You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

5. Financial Data & Disclaimer

The App processes financial data you voluntarily upload, including bank statements and transaction records. LedgerCopilot does not have direct access to your bank accounts and does not initiate any financial transactions on your behalf. The App is a record-keeping and analysis tool only.

6. AI-Generated Insights & Categorizations

The AI-generated categorizations, summaries, and financial insights are provided as informational suggestions only. They do not constitute financial advice, tax advice, or professional guidance of any kind. You are solely responsible for verifying the accuracy of all categorizations and insights and for any financial decisions you make. We make no guarantees regarding the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of AI-generated outputs.

7. Data & Privacy

Your financial data is stored securely and is never sold to third parties. We collect and process your data solely to provide and improve the service. See our Privacy Policy for full details on what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Misuse or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or its systems
• Use the App for any illegal, fraudulent, or harmful purpose
• Upload malicious content, malware, or data you do not have the right to share
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App
• Use the App in a manner that could damage, disable, or impair the service

9. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the App (including but not limited to text, design, software, logos, and AI models) are owned by LedgerCopilot and are protected by intellectual property laws. Your uploaded financial data remains yours.

10. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we determine violates these Terms, is harmful to other users, or is otherwise objectionable. You may delete your account at any time through the App's settings. See our account deletion guide for details.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, LedgerCopilot and its operators are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We are not liable for:

• Any financial losses or decisions made based on the App's insights or categorizations
• Any inaccuracies in parsed bank statement data
• Any unauthorized access to your account resulting from your failure to secure your credentials
• Any interruption, delay, or unavailability of the service

In no event shall our total liability exceed the amount you have paid us (if any) in the 12 months preceding the claim.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless LedgerCopilot and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising out of your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

13. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of the App shall first be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If a resolution cannot be reached, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which LedgerCopilot operates, except where prohibited by law.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or via email. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you must stop using the App and delete your account.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
