Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 4, 2026
1. Introduction
Bleon Co Ltd ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of our users ("user" or "you"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use JOLT, our live trivia game application (the "App"). Please read this privacy policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access or use the App. We reserve the right to make changes to this Privacy Policy at any time and for any reason. We will alert you about any changes by updating the "Last updated" date of this Privacy Policy. You are encouraged to periodically review this Privacy Policy to stay informed of updates. Your continued use of the App after the date such revised Privacy Policy is posted will be deemed acceptance of those changes.
2. Information We Collect
JOLT is designed with privacy in mind. We collect only the information necessary to deliver live trivia sessions. Here is what we collect and when:
2.1. Quiz Content
Quizzes you create are stored locally on your device. When you launch a live trivia session, your quiz content (questions, answers, and answer options) is transmitted to our servers to enable multiplayer gameplay. This content is associated with a temporary session identified by a room code and is retained only for the duration of the live session.
2.2. Session Data
When you host or join a game, we collect: the room code you use, your chosen display name for that session, the answers you submit during gameplay, and your scores. This data is tied to the session and is transient — it is automatically discarded after the session concludes.
2.3. Device & Usage Data
We may automatically collect certain information about your device when you use the App, including your device type, operating system version, app version, and anonymized usage patterns (such as feature usage and session duration). This information helps us improve the App and diagnose technical issues. It is not linked to your identity.
2.4. What We Do NOT Collect
JOLT does not require players to create accounts, provide email addresses, submit phone numbers, or share any personal identifiers to join a game. We do not access your contacts, photos, location data, or any other information stored on your device beyond what is needed to run the App. We do not collect or store payment information.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect solely for the following purposes:
- Delivering live trivia sessions: Broadcasting quiz questions, collecting answers, computing scores, and updating leaderboards in real time.
- App functionality: Enabling core features such as quiz creation, local storage of quizzes, and session hosting.
- Improving the App: Analysing anonymized usage data to understand how JOLT is used and to fix bugs and improve performance.
- Compliance and safety: Detecting and preventing abusive behaviour, enforcing our Terms of Service, and complying with legal obligations.
4. Data Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes. We may share information only in the following limited circumstances:
Service Providers
We may engage trusted third-party service providers to perform functions such as cloud hosting, real-time data synchronisation, and analytics on our behalf. These providers are contractually bound to process data only as instructed by us and in compliance with this Privacy Policy.
Legal Requirements
We may disclose information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental regulation, or if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
Business Transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction. You will be notified of any such change in ownership or control of your information.
5. Data Retention
Quiz content is stored locally on your device and remains there until you delete it. Session data — including quiz content uploaded for a live game, room codes, answers, and scores — is retained only for the duration of the live session and is automatically purged once the session ends. Anonymized usage analytics may be retained indefinitely in aggregate form for product improvement purposes.
6. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect the information we process. Data transmitted between the App and our servers is encrypted in transit. While we strive to protect your information, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children's Privacy
JOLT is not specifically directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information promptly. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
8. Your Rights (NDPR Compliance)
In accordance with the Nigerian Data Protection Regulation (NDPR), you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- The right to be informed about how your data is collected and used.
- The right to access any personal data we hold about you.
- The right to request correction of inaccurate personal data.
- The right to request deletion of your personal data.
- The right to restrict or object to processing of your data.
- The right to data portability.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details provided in Section 10.
9. Third-Party Services
JOLT may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by us. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third-party services. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you access through the App. We assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.
